the chesapeake

We left Coinjock, NC this morning at 8:15. The weather was very nice, sunny, not much wind. We had a peaceful ride to Norfolk, then the wind picked up and it was a rough ride to Yorktown. We arrived at 3:15. We had planned to stay at Riverfront Marina, but it was very rough there. They suggested we cross to the other side and stay at Yacht Haven. It is more protected here. The people are very nice, and will give 3 nights for the price of 2. It is forecast to be windy so we may be here until Friday. There is shuttle service into Yorktown and Williamsburg and Jamestown, so there is plenty to do. The Chesapeake is very hard to travel in when it is windy.
